Hello once again friends, it’s Barbara from Chase the Star! Are you enjoying the holiday season? I look forward to this season all year long. Decorating the tree, Christmas crafts, baking cookies and treats—all traditions I cherish! I’m delighted to be back here at Happiness Is Homemade, this time I’m showing you a few quick and easy ideas for DIY Christmas Ornaments, just in time for your tree trimming!
Simple Ideas for Glass Christmas Ornaments
All of these are made with items I had in my craft stash, and a box of glass ornaments from Hobby Lobby.
Materials:
Glass ornaments
Jute twine
Ribbon (as much or as little as you want)
Glitter
Glue (tacky or hot)
Hole punch
Craft paper sheets
You can get very creative here! Before you know it you will have the entire box of ornaments decorated in no time! Here are three ideas to get you started..
For this one all you need is some just twine and and ribbon. Simply fill the ornament with the twine, and add a little strip of ribbon sealed with a little glue to the top. I love the natural element of the twine paired with the glossy glass!
This one is my favorite of the bunch, it’s a Santa ornament! I used some red grow grain ribbon with pretty white stitching to fill the ornament. Then wrapped a piece of satin black ribbon around it. With a little silver glitter and some tacky glue I added a little square to it. Now Santa has a shiny belt buckle!
Talk about an easy DIY! For this ornament I used a wide hole punch, and one that cuts mini stars on some sheets of craft paper. I simply filled a glass ornament half way, and tied twine to the top.
Imagine all of the things you can fill these glass ornaments with! Maybe you can have the kids help (they sell plastic clear ornaments too) and fill them with some colorful holiday candy! These simple Christmas Glass Ornaments would not only look great on your tree, but they make a great homemade gift.
What kind of DIYornaments would you make?
