Teach your children to help out with the household chores with this fun weekly cleaning checklist for kids – perfect for spring cleaning or any time!
Laundry is a great chore for kids because it’s relatively mess-free. Depending on your child’s age, weekly chores can include putting dirty laundry in the hamper, loading and starting the washing machine, switching wet clothing to the dryer, folding clean clothing, and putting their clean clothes away.
Wiping down counters and table tops is another great job for children of all ages. All it takes is a spray bottle of child-safe cleaner and a rag (and gloves, if you prefer!), and children can easily clean off all of the flat surfaces in your home!
Cleaning the floors is the most popular job in our home, and my kids often squabble over who gets to do it! It’s one of those cleaning tasks that’s both fun AND functional, so I love that they’re so enthusiastic about doing it!
We use Bona PowerPlus Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner and the Deep Clean Pad (aka The Bona® PowerPair! Now available at Lowe’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, ACE Hardware and True Value) for our hardwood floors because it’s Bona’s most powerful cleaning combo yet. The oxygenated formula penetrates for a deep powerful clean, and the bubbling action enhances and lifts away final surface debris. The kids LOVE watching the bubbles in action before they use the cleaning pad to wipe it all away!
