Easy homemade strawberry margarita sorbet with candied limes (alcoholic and non-alcoholic recipes included) is inviting and refreshing. Perfect for spring and summer!
This quick and easy homemade fruit sorbet is a delicious twist on a classic strawberry margarita. You can include alcohol (tequila) if desired, or skip it for a yummy non-alcoholic treat that the entire family can enjoy!
What You’ll Need:
- Frozen Strawberries
- Lime
- Orange Juice
- Margarita Salt and/or Coarse Sugar (optional, to rim glasses)
- White Sugar
- Tequila (optional)
To candy the limes, cut the lime into thin slices. Add the white sugar and water to a pot, boil until sugar is dissolved and mixture starts to gain a syrup like texture. Shut the heat off, remove the pan from the burner and add the limes. Stir to coat with the syrup and let them sit for about 5-6 minutes. Remove the limes from the syrup, place on wax paper and sprinkle with sugar. Let cool completely. Reserve the lime syrup from the pan for the sorbet (refrigerate to cool).
Add the strawberries, orange juice, small piece of lime rind, cold lime syrup, and tequila (if using) into a blender or smoothie maker. Blend until smooth. Spoon into a bowl (stainless steel works best) and freeze for at least 1 hour.
Use the coarse sugar or margarita salt to rim your serving dishes or glasses (if desired), and garnish with candied limes.
