How to Set Up the Football Bingo Game

Materials Needed

1. Free Printable Football Bingo Cards: (available below) We have a set of six unique cards, each offering a different combination of football-related plays and scenarios.
2. Sturdy Cardstock Paper or Copy Paper
3. Pens or Bingo Markers: To mark off your bingo spots, you can use a pen, dot markers, or bingo daubers, plastic bingo makers, or you can use any small objects that you have on hand to cover the squares. Pennies, Cheerios, M&Ms, etc. all work great!
4. Bingo Calling Card List: You may also want a pen and paper to keep track of the plays and events during the game. This is optional, but it’s really nice to have a list to cross-reference after someone yells bingo.

How to Print the Free Football Bingo Cards

• Step 1: Download the free printable bingo cards from the form below. The game cards will be delivered to you via email. These are available as a PDF file, making them easy to print at home.
• Step 2: Print the bingo templates on heavy card stock for a sturdier game experience.
• Step 3: The bingo cards will print with two on each page, so use scissors or a paper trimmer to cut the page in half.
• Step 4: Distribute the bingo game cards among your party guests or family members. Make sure everyone has unique bingo cards!

How to Play Football Bingo

The Basics

• Each bingo card features symbols and scenarios from a typical televised football game, such as ‘two-point conversion,’ ‘missed field goal,’ ‘delay of game,’ ‘pass interference, ‘or ‘cheerleader close-up.’ The football graphic in the center of the card acts as a free space that everyone may cover at the start of the game.
• As you watch the game, mark off the corresponding spots on your card. Use dot markers or a pen – whatever’s handy!
• The first person to cover five spaces in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) on their bingo card template and shout “Bingo!” wins.
• In the event of a tie game, you may choose your favorite tie-breaker method, but we usually resort to a classic game of Rock, Paper, Scissors if necessary!

Adding Fun Twists

Football Bingo isn’t just for the Super Bowl! Make it a regular feature of your football season gatherings and use these digital downloads over and over again with some of these fun twists:

• Ante Up: Increase the stakes by asking each player to “buy in” before receiving their game card. A buy-in can be monetary or it can be something simple (and snacky!) like a candy bar, soda, or bag of chips. Use your imagination and come up with a buy-in option that works well with your group.
• Color Coordinated: Assign one team to each of the different colors of bingo squares. You may ONLY cover that space if the appropriate team completes the action on the card.
• Timing Specifics: to increase the difficulty, you may also opt to add specific timing to each of the bingo card’s columns – for example, “1st Quarter” for column #1, and every event inside of that column needs to be covered within the first quarter of the football game for it to count.
• Super Bowl Party Games: For Super Bowl parties, include events unique to the big game, like halftime show highlights or famous commercials.
