These loaded apple nachos are a delicious healthy snack idea – perfect for after school! Easy to make and endlessly customizable with lots of different yummy topping ideas!
When I was introduced to the concept of Apple Nachos a few years ago, they quickly became one of my most favorite foods ever. “I could seriously live off of apple nachos for the rest of my life!” comes out of my mouth EVERY single time I eat them. For reals. My love runs deep, and their deliciousness knows no boundaries!
This healthy snack is super quick and easy to make, and is a surefire hit with kids and adults alike. Even better, you can customize the toppings and flavors to suit your preferences, so they’re perfect for picky eaters!
How to Make Loaded Apple Nachos:
Begin with your favorite toppings! We used almond butter, cashews, toasted unsweetened coconut, and chocolate chips for this batch of apple nachos, but they sky’s the limit! I usually try to stick with 3-4 healthy ingredients and one “treat” topping.
A Few More Tasty Topping Ideas:
- Raisins, Craisins, and Dried Fruit
- Peanut Butter or Other Nut Butters
- Almonds, Walnuts, Pecans, and Other Nuts
- Pumpkin Seeds
- Graham Cracker Bits
- Honey
- Oatmeal or Granola
- Butterscotch or Peanut Butter Chips
- Mini Marshmallows or Marshmallow Fluff
- Fresh Berries
Carefully cut the apple into very thin slices. I usually get about 30-40 apple “chips” out of a large apple.
Drizzle the apple slices with almond butter (note: if the almond butter is too thick to drizzle, heat it in the microwave for a few seconds!).
Top with all of those yummy toppings!
