According to my boys, everything is better with Nutella® spread, especially breakfast! They can’t get enough of the smooth rich blend of roasted hazelnuts, skim milk and a hint of cocoa, and they recently discovered that they love it on pancakes. I made these Nutella pancake and fruit skewers for them one lazy weekend morning, and they’ve been requesting them almost every day since!
Start by making a bunch of silver dollar sized pancakes using your favorite recipe.
What You’ll Need:
- 3/4 cup Buttermilk
- 1 Egg
- 2 tablespoons Butter melted
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla
- 1 cup Flour
- 3 tablespoons Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
Instructions:
- Mix together buttermilk, melted butter, vanilla, and egg.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix well.
- Cook on a 335 degree griddle for 3-4 minutes or until bubbles form in pancakes. Flip and cook for 2-3 additional minutes or until both sides are golden brown.
To add a Nutella swirl to your pancakes, simply place a bit of Nutella into a piping bag (or the corner of a ziplock bag), snip the tip of the bag, and swirl into the pancake batter while it’s still wet.
My breakfast skewers included mini pancakes, Nutella, strawberries and bananas, but you can use any kind of fruit that you like best.
Layer the strawberries and bananas with pancakes spread with Nutella. I like to trim my strawberries into heart shapes because they’re cute that way. ♥
Pancake skewers are quick and easy to make, and they’re a happy way for your family to start the day!
The creamy Nutella spread combined with fresh fruit and fluffy pancakes is pure breakfast perfection (on a stick!). I love that there are no artificial colors or preservatives in the Nutella, and that it’s kosher and gluten-free.
International Pancake Tuesday is coming up on February 17th, and I’ll be making these again for my boys. They would be happy to eat these pancake skewers EVERY day!
We love pancake skewers because they’re portable, too. Perfect for camping or an impromptu breakfast picnic! I love the weekends when it’s warm enough to sit outside and listen to the birds while we sip coffee and eat breakfast.
